When it comes to fairness in labor workers, someone has to constantly be fighting for the laws to be changed and to ensure that they keep up with the times. Dennis L. Martire is the Regional Manager of the Mid-Atlantic Region and Vice President of the Laborers’ International Union of North America. In this role, it is his job and duty to fight daily for the rights of the workers that he represents. He has spent the majority of his adult life working in this kind of role and today, his primary task is that of working tirelessly with Maryland officials, specifically in the Montgomery County, to pass laws that would ensure fairness for workers.
It never ceases to amaze that people have to fight so hard just to gain what seems as though it should be a given, that being said, Dennis L. Martire continues to push issues such as wage laws that would entitle taxpayers to receive a higher return on their public investments. Generally, people seem to think that if the wage is raised, that the costs will be driven up, but studies have shown that it actually just creates a faster and safer work environment. Families of workers should be able to feel secure in the investment that people are making into their loved ones and that is exactly what Dennis L. Martire is fighting for.
